COVID-19 Updates

Who is eligible for a repayment holiday?

Any of our customers who have been affected by the current pandemic situation a can request for a repayment holiday by contacting us at +9714 4256786.

What documents are required?

• Copies of your bank statement for the last three months

• Latest statement in which the reduced salary is reflected

• A letter from your company stating that your salary has been reduced or that you have lost your job due to the current situation.

How will my credit score be affected if I opt for a repayment holiday?

Once your repayment holiday request is approved, your credit score will not be negatively impacted during that period. After the repayment holiday, you will have to continue paying your monthly instalments to ensure your credit score is not affected.

Will I be charged any additional fee/charges when I opt for a repayment holiday?

You will not be charged any additional fee/charges.

Will Deem present my Direct Debit Authorization during the repayment holiday? If yes, will I be charged for insufficient balance in my bank account?

Once your request for a repayment holiday has been approved for a particular period, your Direct Debit Authorization will not be presented during that period. Make sure that you provide your documents and get an approval for a repayment holiday at least 5 days before the due date to ensure your Direct Debit Authorization is not presented.

Can I apply for a repayment holiday if I am self-employed? What documents would be required from me?

If your business has been affected by the current pandemic, you can request for a repayment holiday and we will review your request. You would need you to submit latest copies of your monthly bank statements. You can contact us at +9714 4256786 for more information.

How many days prior to my due date should I raise a request for a repayment holiday?

Make sure that you provide your documents and get an approval for a repayment holiday at least 5 days before the due date. If you are unable to submit documents 5 days before the due date, you will only be able to request for a repayment holiday for your next monthly instalment. In this case, make sure you keep your bank account sufficiently funded for the upcoming monthly instalment.

If I am tested positive for COVID-19 and am not able to make payments right now, can I on a later date request for a repayment holiday for the period I was affected?

Yes, you can contact us at a later date in case you were tested positive for COVID-19. We will review your request at that point in time and check for eligibility for a repayment holiday.

Can I request for a repayment holiday for my credit card payment?

Currently, we do not have repayment holidays for credit cards. However, we do have the following benefits for our credit card customers during this period:

• 50% reduction in cash advance fee from 1st April 2020 to 30th June 2020.

• Refund of processing fee for foreign currency transactions charged from 1st April 2020 to 30th June 2020 if you need to cancel your travel bookings made on the credit card.

Will I be charged full cash advance fee on my current statement and then 50% of the cash advance fee be reversed on my next statement?

For every cash withdrawal from 1st April 2020 to 30th June 2020 you will be charged only 50% of the cash advance fee and the same will reflect on your statements.

Will I be refunded the full processing fee for foreign currency transactions even if I get only partial refund for cancelling my travel booking?

Yes, you will receive a refund of the entire processing fee whether you receive a full or partial refund for your travel booking cancellation.

How long will it take for the processing fee refund to reflect on my statement?

The processing fee will be refunded 14 days after your travel booking refund is credited on your statement.

If I have subscribed for Double Secure on my credit card, will I be covered for a job loss under the current COVID-19 situation?

We do have an involuntary job loss cover on credit cards through the insurance product, Deem Double Secure along with death, permanent/total disability and critical illness benefits. For claims in case of an involuntary job loss, you have to provide your termination document clearly mentioning the reason of termination along with other valid KYC details.

What if I have been affected before this period?

If you have been affected before this period please reach out to us on 800 3366 and we will look into providing you the best solution.

What is the validity of the Ramadan campaign?

The campaign is valid for spends made in 3 billing cycles between 1st March 2020 and 29th June

* These cycles are eligible for 3% accelerated cashback on online shopping spends on Deem Titanium Cash Up Credit Card, 5% accelerated cashback on Dining spends on Deem Platinum Cash Up Credit Cards.

**These cycles are eligible for 6% accelerated cashback on Online shopping spends on Deem Titanium Cash Up Credit Card, 10% accelerated cashback on Dining spends on Deem Platinum Cash Up Credit Cards.

All transactions made and posted in the billing cycle will earn the campaign rewards.

Are there any transactions that are not eligible for earning Cash Up?

The following transactions are not eligible for Cash Up:

· Balance transfers

· Cash on phone

· Cash advances

· Interest charges

· Fees and commissions

Do I need to register to receive Cash Up?

You are automatically enrolled into the offer during the campaign period for all Titanium Cash Up and Platinum Cash Up cards issued, activated and used.

 How will I know how much Cash Up I have earned?

All Cash Up points that you earn on your Titanium credit card is available on your Deem Mobile App

The Cash Up amount that you have earned will appear in your monthly credit card statement. The value of Cash Up is as below:

1 Cash Up = AED 1

Does my supplementary card also earn Cash Up?

Yes. Transactions on your supplementary card will be eligible for Cash Up and will appear on the primary card account.

Is there a minimum number of Cash Up required to request for redemption?

The minimum number of Cash Up required for redemption is 100 Cash Up.

If I make a purchase from a supermarket located within a department store or purchase supermarket items from a department store, will I get the accelerated Cash Up under the Titanium Cash Up offer?

What is the Cash Up Titanium offer?

Deem’s Titanium Cash Up allows you to earn Cash Up at an accelerated rate on the spend categories listed below:

• Supermarket & Grocery Stores

• Fuel Purchases at Gas Stations

• Utility Bills & spends at Government Services

Cash Up Titanium Table

The Cash Up is earned on each transaction individually. With each transaction made in the above spend categories with your Deem Titanium Credit Card you will earn Cash Up based on:

• The spend category it belongs to

• The value of the purchase made on the credit card

This will define the spend-tier that the purchase falls into and the rate of Cash Up that it will earn.

In addition to the above mentioned spend categories, all other retail purchases made on the card will also earn Cash Up where the Cash Up will be calculated on the total sum of transactions as on the statement date.
